ISB visit to Belfast Citadel

26 Jan 2014

The International Staff Band's visit to Belfast Citadel began with an afternoon Master Class with the corps "Kids Alive Band" – a great experience for the young band members. On Saturday evening the congregation were treated to the band's first performance of 'Inclusion' (Paul Sharman) as well as solos and a vocal item. On Sunday morning, the meeting included 'Guardian of My Soul’ (Darren Shaw) and Belfast Citadel Kids Alive Band played 'Marching Saints'. The service given to Belfast Citadel Band by Deputy Bandmaster Derick Hanna was recognised. The Sunday afternoon festival featured classics such as 'Unconquered' and 'None Other Name' as well as cornet and euphonium duets. The congregation witnessed the ISB playing David Catherwood's arrangement of 'Come Home', conducted by the composer himself - a special moment for everyone. The Citadel Songsters also contributed 'Rejoice'. JM
